At this difficult time for so many individuals, businesses, and organizations, we’d like to do what we can to help others in need. We are sharing a few of our ideas in this e-mail and would love to hear back from you as well.
Recently, we worked with Town & Country magazine to create something really special for the Habitat for Humanity New York City benefit auction. You can bid on an online consultation with me plus a custom bookshelf created around your requests now through April 30th. There are also wonderful items from our design industry colleagues including Nate Berkus and Alexandra Champilamaud, and it is all for a great cause!
This past Thursday was Library Giving Day! It’s not too late to make your contribution to support your local library. They play such an important role in our communities and making sure that everyone has access to books and other services.
Local independent bookstores need all of our help and support to keep going. Below are a few ideas for how you can help provide support and financial relief during this time.
A non-profit organization that planted its roots back in 1996 with the purpose of helping bookstore employees in need, the Book Industry Charitable (Binc), is now leading emergency assistance for booksellers among the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are donating 10% from every order of our Curated Sets of 3 to BINC. As bookstores are a pillar of our local communities, we are trying to help out as best we can.
Partnered with the Binc Foundation, author James Patterson, and well-endorsed by Reese Witherspoon, the #SaveIndieBookstores campaign is also working towards the COVID-19 relief effort and will run through April 30th– its planned date for all raised funds to be distributed to eligible independent bookstores.
Libro.fm is an audiobook platform that is currently giving 100% of their new membership payments to local bookstores with #shopbookstoresnow. There are also a selection of individual audiobooks that you can buy without a membership and are still apart of the 100% proceed deal, sending the payment to your local bookstore.
